Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) are administered by individual provinces to enable them to fill-in their labor market needs by attracting and retaining individuals from inside and outside Canada. Individuals who possess province-specific in-demand qualifications, demonstrate ties to the province and are determined to likely settle in the province upon gaining permanent residence status are typically those who succeed in their PNP application.
Provincial nominee programs can be paper-based, aligned with express entry and/or a separate online process application.
One highlight of the express entry aligned PNPs are that a provincial nomination would boost the Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) of the individual in the express entry pool by 600 points automatically qualifying them to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
