Express Entry is a new online system which replaced the “first-come-first-served” immigration selection process introduced by the Canadian federal government in 2015 to manage permanent residence applications and strategically fill-in labor market needs through economic programs. Till date, it is the most popular and the fastest way to immigrate to Canada for individuals with the right work experience, education, and language skills.

Who is eligible for Express Entry?

To be eligible for express entry, individuals will have to qualify under one of the three economic programs – Federal Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Trades.

The Federal Skilled Worker category is for individuals who possess and demonstrate a certain level of education, English or French language ability, professional work experience, and the ability to successfully settle in Canada.

The Canadian Experience Class is suited to those who have worked at least for a year at managerial, professional or technical and skilled trades level in Canada and are able to meet the minimum English/French language requirements.

The Federal Skilled Trades category is ideally for skilled trade workers with at least 2 years work experience among other eligibility requirements.
